Welcome
I'm Gemma Orrell
Mummy of 2 little ones and qualified Perinatal Educator, Breastfeeding Advisor & Meditation & Breathwork Instructor.

I run monthly My Birth & Baby courses from my home village of Upholland, supporting expectant parents from across the wider area including from Ormskirk, Skelmersdale, Appley Bridge, Parbold, Standish, Shevington, Eccleston and much further afield.

I share my time between caring for my own 2 children, working full time and building up this wonderfully supportive community of new parents. My antenatal classes offer you a full continuity of care and support, from pregnancy all the way through to birth and those early days with your new baby.

I did my full Perinatal training with The Daisy Foundation back in 2017 and have been teaching antenatal & parenting classes ever since as The Daisy Foundation - Upholland. Now, with the support of The Daisy Foundation I am teaching the same comprehensive & supportive classes as always under my own name - Gemma Orrell Antenatal.

Having already supported over 300 mums-to-be as well as their partners, I can't wait to meet more expectant parents and become part of stepping into one of the most amazing journeys you will ever take!
Antenatal Classes
I run monthly My Birth & Baby courses to help expectant parents prepare for what's ahead. Split into two themes, the first sessions are all about welcoming baby into the world. Helping mum to create confidence around her body's ability to birth and how she can help the whole process through breathwork, movement and positioning as well as creating a relaxed mind to support a positive birth journey. Birth partners will gain the knowledge and confidence to support mum through labour, feeling able to advocate and make a positive difference.

The final sessions of My Birth & Baby Care focus on caring for your new little one, from learning the basics of dressing, bathing & changing to putting yourself in baby's shoes and supporting them to feel secure and nurtured during the all important 4th trimester, focusing on life outside the womb, calming techniques, feeding and how to support baby with issues such as reflux & colic.

Just want to say a massive thankyou to Gemma, I honestly feel so relaxed now about my little girls birth. I'm now 36 weeks and we had our last session last night, I enjoyed each and every class and felt like I learned so much! Gemma was always open to any questions I had and never made me feel silly for asking anything. I would 100% recommend to anyone expecting a baby, especially anyone feeling anxious/ worried about birth or anyone wanting a nice positive birthing experience.

My partner and I went to the birthing and baby classes together.
Really good, relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Lots of really good information, now feel really comfortable with what to expect.
The sessions were a great mix of interaction and information. Lots of visual aids for people like me and detailed information for people like me with a shorter attention span and la good mix of detail, which my partner loved.
Would definitely recommend.

I attended the classes last year, the best thing I did when I was pregnant. I would thoroughly recommend them! I learnt so much which was really valuable and filled me with confidence for my labour. I used the information Gemma taught throughout my labour which made it a pleasurable experience bringing my daughter into the world. I can’t thank her enough!
